La Siesta Central, a new 27-key boutique hotel in Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter, has opened its doors. Situated on the banks of Hoan Kiem Lake, the property is owned and operated by the Vietnam-based Elegance Hospitality Group and features a design directed by EHG chairman Do Van Dan, a trained architect who takes a leading role in the design of all properties under the group’s umbrella.
Comprising a spa, rooftop restaurant, sky bar and 27 guestrooms, 19 of which offer panoramic lake views, the hotel’s stately interiors incorporate dark wood panelling and intricate patterned tiling, whilst monochrome artwork in public areas and suites seeks to create tones of classicism.
Guests have access to an array of room types, all of which come with amenities including walk in rainforest shower and luxury toiletries from the in-house La Siesta Spa brand. However, it is the highest category rooms – the Junior Suite Lake View and the Premium La Siesta Suite Balcony – that offer the sought after lake views.
“Every visitor who comes to Hanoi visits Hoan Kiem lake of course,” explains Chu Van Binh, General Manager of La Siesta Central. “But it’s a rarity for them to actually see it from their hotel room. Even the rooms that don’t have lake views look over the rooftops of the Old Quarter, which is just as fascinating in its own way.”
