While in the past, most people thought of spa as basic and therapeutic treatment, such as facials or massages, spa does help us in a variety of ways far beyond beautifying and relaxing. For many of us, especially after long working hours or exhausting travelling, spa is really a “should-do” in our activity list during weekend days or trips. The reason why? We spend the entire week for work and running other errands. It’s important to take out time from our busy schedule to completely ‘zone out’ and unplug from emails, social media and other stresses of daily life because we deserve a good break! Isn’t it a good enough reason for visiting spa? Spa helps us escape into another world, bring a smile on your face and get various healthy benefits when working on our inner-selves for a couple of hours.
Not only for the sake of appearance, going to spa is also very beneficial to our health. First and foremost, it reduces stress hormone levels, consequently helps slow down our heart rate and lower blood pressure risk. It’s a great pain reliever, whether we’ve got muscular pain, chronic headaches or a migraine. At the same time, it boosts our immunity. Relaxing at spa helps re-charge our body with nutrients and elements, boosting moisture in the skin, helping to rejuvenate and relax our mind. Treatments such as massage increase our brain’s level of feel-good hormones like dopamine and serotonin. Thus, it helps us become energetic and fresh and let us prepared for the stress that awaits us ahead.
