The mini exhibition “Happy Zone” by artist Do Thuy Hang will be held at Dong Phong Art Gallery from 20 April to 20 May, 2018.
Please read following heartfelt statement to understand more about the artist and her work:
“I am an ordinary woman who spends my whole life searching for my Happy Zone. This is where I imagine I can finally ‘touch’ the essence of the true, the good, and the beautiful.
I love both the good and the bad sides of reality. Reality gives me the emotions that I express with my free brush strokes and strong, contrasting colors. Reality is the grass, the trees or the flowers, the winds or the sun, rain or storm. It is the peaceful space on my balcony, or my lovely dogs and cats. It lies in the funny and voluble kids, in the poor, hard-working women, or in the couples whose faces brightened by happiness…
I paint, and even though I may not be famous, and the world may not see me as great painter, my art expresses my thoughts, feelings and experiences of the daily life. I love all people and things, and I want to understand them all, accept them all, using my view on reality.
The Happy Zone, to me, is not a specific point on the map that can be located with modern technological devices; it is inside me, it is in my mind, my thoughts, my memories, and in my dreams about the past and moments of inner calmness.
