From the organizer:
The exhibition display artworks of seven Vietnamese female artists who paint flowers and women – symbols of femininity: Lâm Na (Nguyễn Quỳnh Na), Nguyễn Thanh Hương, Lê Thủy, Đinh Mai Thu Trang, Tô Ngọc Thảo, Nguyễn Mỵ, Nguyễn Lan Hương
How do female artists portray femininity these days? Is there any difference with the way artists of previous generations did? If so, how different are they in term of means of representation and the artists’ gender?
42 paintings presented in this exhibition intuitively reflect the aesthetic perception and view of the artists on society and ethics, as well as their thoughts and desire for gender equality.
Each author has her own style and personality, yet all of the seven artists possess powerful, uninhibited painting styles which have significantly contributed to the Expressionism movement in Vietnam.
